Trinh Son

Director of Baiyue Tea Society 

Mr. Son started picking and processing tea when he was 6, continuing the legacy his family began generations ago. He belongs to Tày people and was born in the same area we find the Baiyue tribes. Mr. Son works full time in the tea sector, while also carrying out training programs for young people to enhance their own potential. He cooperates with farmers in different tea cooperatives and promotes indigenous knowledge and sustainability.

Dan Chien

Master of Tea Ritual 

Dan Chien belongs to Red Dao tribe. His village is quite isolated, located inside deep mountains and beautiful waterfalls. He a specialist tea farmer with experience processing fermented tea in bamboo tube. Dan is also a master of spiritual rituals. He helps neighbors in his community with shamanic rituals, help them overcome the problems in daily life.

Hoang Thang

Master of Tea Ritual 

As a ritual master of Tày ethnic minority groups. Hoang travels around North Vietnam promoting traditional culture and teaching young generations about tea farming. These rituals are an essential practice in the spiritual life of the Tày, Nùng and Thái ethnic groups in Viet Nam. They reflect concepts about human beings, the natural world and the universe.

Ta Chai

Director of Tea Co-operative & Fairy Tea Conservation 

Ta Chai belongs to the Red Dzao Tribe. His family has a long lineage of tea farming, working in the area for hundreds of years. Recently, he was named the director of the tea cooperative in his area. After 3 years of military service, Ta Chai has moved back to his home village with his wife.  He has recently begun a project for the conservation of the fairy tea tree, an endangered tree in the area.

Ly Ton

Local Tea.Farmer 

His family belongs to Red Dao ethnic minority. Ly Ton's two main sources of income are tea harvesting and carpentering. His speciality is fermented tea processing in bamboo tube. He is also the main contractor for new homes in his village. Ly Ton and his family are very close, 3 generations live together in the same household.

Local Tea Farmer

Ms. Ly Ton is also a Red Dao. Her family is tea specialist and have been producing tea for the village for hundreds of years. She and her husband make up a beautiful team and work very hard for making the best quality living for their family.

Ban Tuan

Director of tea Co-operitive

Huen Nguen belongs to Tày tribe. He is a true lover and passionate for tea industry. He mainly focuses on tea harvest, production and distribution. He is the director of a tea cooperative in Côn Luân Mountain range which holds more than 50 members. From this cooperative Nguen makes sales of tea to Taiwan and China.

Our ambassadors team make up an important piece in the correct running of the community. They are in charge of spreading the word and message of Baiyue out to the world. Our volunteers have all had first hand experience living in the community and are passionate about spreading the message of the Baiyue Tea Society.
